The edition
What an edition would carry.
A published edition would lead with the single signal that most deserves attention, then a short watchlist.
The scope, cadence and inclusion rule an edition follows are set out below, with what every edition carries and what it does not.
How an edition is scoped
Each edition has its scope stated in advance. Monday to Friday.
- Scope
National or regional - Each planned edition covers a stated scope, national or regional, fixed before its first issue and printed on every edition.
- Cadence
Monday to Friday - Planned as a weekday edition, Monday to Friday, to arrive before the business day. Not on weekends, and this page will say if that changes.
- Today
Requests for a single brief - The form below takes requests for a single brief.
- Inclusion rule
In the record, or not included - An item enters an edition only if the record’s own text falls within the edition’s stated scope. A federal item in a regional edition shows the sentence in the record that ties it to the region.
- Quiet mornings
Said, not filled - When nothing qualifies, the edition says so and links what was read. Material from outside the scope is never substituted.
What a subscriber would receive
A few relevant, source-backed signals. Not a feed.

Any action taken on your behalf
Desk is for organizations that need a brief built around their own priorities and sources, with a record of decisions.
Pricing
Pricing, when billing opens.
No edition is delivered yet, and billing is not open. Pricing will be published then. Nothing is charged, and no card is required.
One brief
One brief, prepared for you.
Tell us what you follow and a person at Byline will prepare a single brief for you: what changed, why it matters to your work, with the sources.
Editorial boundaries
What an edition is, and is not.
- Selection
Relevance is bounded by the edition’s scope, not inferred from you. - Daily has declared no priorities of yours. An item is selected because its record falls within the edition’s stated scope, and for no other reason.
- Evidence
Every item links its source. - A primary document where practical; a named outlet otherwise. A summary is never the evidence endpoint.
- Judgment
The call is rule-bound and evidence-capped. - When an item is drafted, sources that disagree cannot carry a Respond, and a single source that does not speak for itself is capped at Note. Fixed rules set the call; a model’s draft can only lower it.
- Review
Review status is stated, never implied. - A Daily edition says whether a person reviewed it. When one did not, it says that.
- Not advice
Daily is a briefing, not counsel. - It is not legal, lobbying, compliance, financial or strategic advice, and it takes no action on your behalf.
- Stopping
You can stop at any time. - Reply to any issue, or use the link in it. No questions, and no retention of your address beyond what Privacy states.
